How to Dye an Orange Hair Topper Pink

Pink hair color can cause an uproar; it is a signature fashionista color. Pink hair dye is also a pleasant change for people who simply want something different from the usual blonde and brown hair colors. In today’s blog, we would like to showcase the work of our dear customer Marianne, who dyed hair pink from an outdated orange hair topper.

Tools Needed:

  • Color remover
  • Developer
  • Toner
  • Neutralizing shampoo and conditioner

The product she uses is our stock SPU4.75*2 hair topper. It is PU with a ribbon base and Mongolian Remy hair.

Steps to Pink Hair

  1. Remove the outdated orange hair color.

First, mix color remover and developer together.

Second, divide the hair into two sections, and paint both sides of the hair.

Third, use foil to cover the entire hair topper, and let it process for 45 minutes.

Finally, wash the hair in lukewarm water with blue or green neutralizing shampoo and conditioner (lukewarm water maintains open cuticles a little longer).

  1. Neutralize any remaining unwanted undertones.

To achieve the funfetti shade of pink that she wants, she uses lightener mixed with developer to paint the hair from roots to tips.

She weaves out the hair into chunky portions before painting in order to create a small bit of dimension with light and dark strands of pink hair.

To avoid splotchiness, use fingers or a comb to make an up and down motion. This smooths out the product for even lift and color blending.

  1. Seal color back into the hair to achieve a new result.

Add toner into the mixture to help deposit color back into the cortex.

Wash with shampoo and conditioner again in cooler water this time. Cooler water helps to seal the hair cuticle, locking in moisture and color.

Look at this pretty funfetti pink hair! Now we’ve taken this SPU hair topper from outdated orange to trendy pink!

So, if your clients want a trendy pink color, we hope you find this technique helpful.
