Silk Top is one of the most natural ventilation methods. It is very popular. But do you know there are two different types of Silk Top, Single Silk Top and Double Silk Top.
The ventilation process of Double Silk Top:
First, we knot hair on the scalp side of a base of a lace base. Second, we pull the two strands of hair (including the long hair strand and the return hair strand) through and then pull it out through the upper base (silk mono) to the hair side. Therefore, the knot is hidden under the upper base (silk mono).
The ventilation process of Single Silk Top:
First, we knot hair on the scalp side of lace base. Second, we pull t just one strand of hair (only the long hair strand, not the return hair strand) through the lace and out through the upper base (silk mono) to the hair side. Therefore, the knots and return hairs are hidden under the upper base (silk mono). Then we cut the return hair to around one centimeter. We also brush a layer of poly to fix the return hair. Finally, we place a layer of silk mono on the scalp side of the unit.
Single Silk Top is more complicated so it will take a longer time than Double Silk Top to make. However, because that there is no return hair with Single Silk Top it gives a better effect for a women’s long hair piece than Double Silk Top. But for a men’s short hair piece, Double Single Top is a more reasonable choice.
