This is How You Tame Sticking Up Hair on a Toupee

Hair on toupees or hair systems sticks up or gets tufted sometimes, especially with human hair toupees, such as those made here at New Times Hair. Some types of Asian hair used for toupees are the sturdiest on the planet and pretty hard to tame.

With the help of this 1.5-minute video tutorial and a detailed post, we will show you the correct steps to taming the most impetuous hair on a toupee or hair system. It’s not hard at all.

Combing

Firstly, let’s comb the hair. Hold the hair roots and start combing from the middle of the hair to the tips. Avoid pulling against the scalp.

Comb-hair

The comb or hairbrush doesn’t have to be wide-toothed as long as the tooth gaps are not too narrow and the hair can’t get through.

Then comb the hair roots after combing the middle and tip. Repeat this process till all the hair on the base is through and free of tangles.

Washing and Shampooing

Rinse the hair under running tap water.

Be sure not to use hot water, which may damage the hair or cause shedding. Ideally, use lukewarm water to rinse it, as it softens the hair system, making it easier on the hand.

Wash-hair

Rub and pat the hair while rinsing until the hair system is thoroughly wet; apply toupee shampoo to the hair, rub and knead it, wash thoroughly, and then rinse all the bubbles under the tap water again.

Conditioning

After the hair system is thoroughly rinsed and free of bubbles, apply toupee conditioner to the hair, ensuring every single strand is nourished.

Comb the hair again with the hair conditioner on. Make sure all the hair on the base is thoroughly combed.

Rinsing

Again, rinse the hair system with lukewarm tap water.

Keep rinsing until all the hair conditioner is off, and gently squeeze it dry.

Drying

Dry the toupee with an absorbent towel (preferably 100% cotton) by dapping, tapping, and pressing till the hair is damp.

Then install the toupee on the client’s scalp or put it on a toupee stand to blow dry it. Make sure you always use cold air when blow-drying a hair system.

Finished

The toupee or hair system should be 100% dry by now. We believe no single strand of sticking hair is pestering you for independence. They are all tamed. You can style it now. All yours! Good luck!

Hi. Sorry for confusing you. actually, they are the same piece, it’s one of our stock products with 3.0cm wave, our client sent it back to ask for our help. because of the hairdresser’s mistake the hair turned to straight and kept standing on the base. after our maintenance, the hair returned to normal, there is a color difference because the videos were taken in different light. And we thought this may help, so we made a video to share with you all. Thanks for your comment.

  2. SERIOUSLY ARE YOU TO ACTUALLY THINK THAT IS THE SAME UNIT YOUR MODEL IS WEARING. HINT: THE COLOR IS FAR OFF, NOT EVEN A ALMOST CLOSE VERSION, NOT EVEN GONNA MENTION THE WAVE PATTERN. GOTTA TELL YOU SO FAR NEW TIMES IS NOT IMPRESSING ME, NOT AT ALL.
    VERY DISAPPOINTED

Hi, I told our sales rep. She will email you. Please wait patiently. Thanks.

  4. I have had a number of custom and stock orders backed up for several weeks waiting for a response from your company. I left many messages, filled in all the blanks, and thought I had established a connection with your company. I never heard a word. I gave several custom and stock orders to Shunfa also. They completed the order but never communicated with me after. I prefer working with your company because you offer educational videos and tutorials. But I wonder if you put too much emphasis on that and not enough attention to the actual customer who wants to do business with you.

Who cares if Lori Greiner wears a wig? I want an answer to my question.
